Can Solar Water Save Me Money?

If you’re looking for a way to save money on energy bills, you might be considering solar water. Using solar panels to help heat your water can be a great investment into the energy efficiency of your home. Solar water works well, and can save you up to 70% of the costs of heating water for your home.

So, How Does it Work?

Solar panels use the energy of the sun to heat the water you’re about to use to a warm temperature. It won’t be quite to the temperature you would need, for example, to run the dishwasher or wash a load of whites, but it will be very warm.
This helps reduce the energy used by your hot water heater. Because the solar water is already very warm, it takes very little energy to heat it to the temperature you desire. This is where the 70% savings comes in.

The Cost of Installing the Panels

You will have some upfront cost when you install the solar panels to heat your water. These panels will make up the major expense of putting solar water in your home. The exact cost will be determined when your Sungate Energy Solutions engineer works with you to come up with the exact specifications for your home’s system. Solar water costs vary with your water needs. A family of five, for example, will need a larger system than a couple.

To offset the cost of your solar panels, you will receive a 30% tax credit, provided your installation is completed by 2016. There is no cap on this tax credit, so you’ll receive a full 30% of what you spent; which makes installing solar water in your home so much more affordable. Tax credits, such as this one are so much better than tax deductions, because a tax credit is a direct offset to the bottom line taxes you owe.

Talk to your Sungate Energy Solutions representative to find out more about converting to solar water for your home. You’ll be amazed at how much money you can save.

Sungate Energy Solutions brings solar power to San Diego, California

Solar Power San Diego: What a rich heritage solar has in San Diego.

San Diego, California is blessed with copious sunshine. In fact it is one of the brightest regions in the United States and you will be pleasantly surprised to know that San Diego is the top solar power producer in the country. This is one of the primary reasons why Sungate Energy Solutions chose California in general and San Diego in particular to establish its solar energy enterprise.

Although the sun doesn’t need to shine extremely bright in order to enable the photovoltaic solar panels to generate electricity, it does help if the region gets good amount of sun. Fortunately, San Diego, California is one of such places. And it is not just the sunshine that may encourage you to switch to solar energy from conventional energy sources: federal incentives pay up to 30% of the one-time installation cost through a tax credit program that is very attractive.

Sungate Energy Solutions can install solar panels and water heating equipment at your home or business establishment as soon as you give us a call or contact us. Our solar panels and solar equipments are highly efficient and they will bring down your utility bills by 70-80% with a large enough system array. A large solar panel array, once you have installed, creates a situation where the solar panels can product most of your electricity. The remaining electricity can be derived from your conventional electricity connection.

Installing solar panels also increases your property value. A recent study has revealed that installing energy efficient and energy-saving devices can increase the value of your property by a whopping 15-20%.

Sungate Energy Solutions believes that among the developed regions of the world California is one of the best places to tap into the massive potential of the sun. The technology not only saves you money it also helps you reduce your carbon footprint. Millions of tons of greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere as we incessantly use power at homes, industries, businesses and in transport. A significant proportion of this onslaught can be curbed by using renewable and clean power generation, such as solar power.

Sungate Energy Solutions provides customizable solar panels that can be installed on rooftops, poles, backyards and open fields. The only condition is that they should get lots of light. Our solar panels come with a great warranty as well.

Sungate Energy Solutions asks: “Is Global Warming Really Knocking at Your Doors?”

Whether life on this planet is in peril due to global warming is an opinion that varies according to what camp you belong to but if you’re looking for signs that should worry you, you will find thousands of them, the latest being an unprecedented heat wave in Russia causing devastating forest fires and killing 700 persons every day due to the smoke. Of course you can dig out various “natural reasons” for such anomalies but weathers and climates going astray, inexplicable draughts and floods, rapidly vanishing biodiversity and disappearing forests, melting glaciers and breaking ice masses at the polar ice caps are screaming indications that something not very pleasant and safe is happening with our planet — so far the only place we have.

But the good news is that salvation is still possible. We just have to make small changes and adjustments and our future generations will be thankful for them. Both individuals, and high-tech organizations like Sungate Energy Solutions are strenuously pursuing innovations that can produce lasting clean energy sources and devising ways and changes people can help preserve the fragile life on earth.

One of such revolutionary change can be changing the way you get power. Right now millions of tons of fossil fuel is continuously burned to generate power for families, businesses, transport and industries. The conventional form of producing and consuming energy causes double damage — you are using resources that are depleting with great speed and putting lots of stress on the ecology and the environment and you are pumping into the atmosphere millions of tons of greenhouse gases everyday and heating up the earth.

This is a monumental tragedy first, because it can be catastrophic within a few decades and second, it can be so easily avoided. Take for instance reducing your energy consumption from conventional sources; all you have to do is install solar panels and heating devices powered by the sun.

Sungate Energy Solutions provides cutting-edge solar energy technology that can produce up to 70% of your energy needs and this means once you have installed the solar panels on your roof you can reduce your consumption of conventional energy by 70% and this is a significant proportion. Since the current technological advances cannot provide you 100% energy you are still connected to your main power lines so that whenever you need more energy you can obtain it from your old connection: it happens automatically and you don’t have to do anything.

Not sure what sort of rooftop panels your household or business establishment would require? Just give us a call and our engineers from Sungate Energy Solutions will promptly pay you a visit and conduct an assessment and afterwards present you an appropriate solar energy solution.

You don’t buy this global warming “fear mongering”? Even if that’s the case just think how much money you can save by relying on the sun rather than the conventional energy sources powered by coal and petroleum. Installing solar panels is just a one-time cost and there too you get heavy subsidy from the government. Even according to conservative estimates you can recover your initial cost in just three years. After you have recovered your installation cost you get your energy — most of it — for free. You may have to bear some maintenance cost but that’s negligible compared to what you save.

Whatever you believe in, getting rooftop solar panels is anyway a win-win decision; whether its global warming or mounting energy costs you benefit in both the cases.

Let insulated windows from Sungate Energy Solutions increase your bank account

As they say money saved is money earned. Insulated windows from Sungate Energy Solutions can help you drastically reduce your energy costs by maintaining a favorable level of temperature inside your premises.

Your heating and cooling devices need to work extra hard when your windows and other ventilation points are not properly insulated. Insulation prevents the inside air from going outside and outside air from coming inside. In winter the outside air is cold and the air inside your house is warm. If the insulation is not properly done the warm air from inside escapes and in order to maintain an acceptable degree of temperature your heating system has to employ more power. Similarly during warm weather your cooling system may have to work harder if all the time it has to cool the warm air coming from outside through the faulty insulation.

And it is not just your windows and ventilation points from where the heat or the coolness is escaping. The favorable temperature can also escape from your ceiling and walls so they also need to be well-insulated.

Highly efficient insulation systems from Sungate Energy Solutions can reduce your cooling and heating costs by as much as 40%. Considering that an average US household spends around 44% of the total amount of energy spent on heating and cooling, this can certainly make a big difference. Our double insulation systems are highly effective, affordable and nonintrusive. They can be easily installed from the inside without breaking or modifying anything. They completely blend with your interiors and enhance the beauty of your Windows. The strong insulation keeps dust, noise and above all the unfavorable temperature out.

Wondering what type of insulation is good for your house or office? Sungate Energy Solutions provides free consulting – we can assess your insulation requirement and suggest a solution accordingly. We will carefully study your existing heating or cooling system and then carry out insulation that is completely tailored to your requirement. Our insulation solutions are highly affordable, easy to install and easy to maintain. We can carry out window installations for all sizes and inclinations. Double paneling not only helps you keep bad weather out it also makes your window glasses stronger.

Quality window insulation saves you a significant amount of money and helps you curtail your fossil-fuel consumption too. So much fossil fuel can be saved by simply optimizing the way we use it. It’s always prudent to keep abreast with the latest trends in the production of clean energy and adopt them, but conserving energy derived from conventional (often polluting) sources too can help you move your lifestyle towards a cleaner and less polluted environment.

10 Tricks to Help You Slash Your Electric Bill

Want to help cut your next electric bill? Sure… who doesn’t? Here are some helpful tips.

  1. Check Furniture Placement: Rugs or furniture that block a vent can really cost you. Move them and save!
  2. Change Your Lightbulbs: Compact florescent bulbs use a quarter the electricity and last longer than regular bulbs. And, they’re the environmentally responsible choice.
  3. Cook on the Back Burner: By turning on your exhaust fan and using the rear burner on hot days, warm air will be sucked out, which minimizes AC use.
  4. Change Your Showerhead: Replacing it with a low-flow head can use less water per minute – so there’s less to heat.
  5. Wash Your Lint Trap: Since dryer sheets can cause a transparent film that burns out the heating unit, it’s vital to wash your lint trap with hot, soapy water every 6 months.
  6. Unplug Appliances: Even when they’re not in use your toaster, laptop and can opener drain power. So unplug them and save.
  7. Program Your Thermostat: Simply set it to raise or lower your thermostat for the times when you’re not at home.
  8. Tint Home Windows: For windows that get a lot of sun, you can add a layer of solar window film to deflect sunlight and conserve energy.
  9. Wash Clothes in Cold Water: Since most of the energy used by top-loading washers is to heat water, washing in cold can help you save each month.
  10. Install Motion Detectors on Lights. Kids are notorious for leaving lights on by accident. This easy trick can help you say goodbye to wasted electricity—and high bills.

Sungate Energy Solutions – The Importance of Solar Panels for Your Home

Since the ancient times humans have worshipped the sun, feared it, admired it, woven tales around it, and recognized its near infinite power as far as the earth goes. It’s only now we’ve been able to harness a tiny fraction of its power — a power popularly known as solar energy or solar power.

Are you looking for a viable energy solution for you home? We highly recommend solar panels and other solar energy products by Sungate Energy Solution: a clean energy company bringing cutting-edge clean energy solutions to the residents of California.

Why solar power?

The two overwhelming reasons are environmental and economical. We’re on the brink of an ecological disaster due to our constant usage of fossil fuels. From generating domestic and industrial power to running automobiles, trains and aeroplanes, we pump into the atmosphere millions of tons of greenhouse gases everyday by burning fossil fuels. We are producing more carbon than the jungles and oceans can absorb. The results are rising temperatures and ominously unpredictable weather patterns. And we are not even talking about the recent BP oil spill — one of the greatest ecological disasters in the US history. And we’re also not even talking about similar ecological disasters happening in various African countries almost on a weekly basis.

So why leave a totally messed up environmental legacy for your children and grandchildren when you can totally avoid this?

Installing photovoltaic solar panels — preferably by Sungate Energy Solutions if you happen to be in Northern California — at home is the most energy efficient solution you can go for. They produce zero pollution and they are totally non-intrusive. You can place them somewhere they can get lots of exposure to sun, preferably on your roof. Once they are operational, you can immediately reduce your conventional energy consumption.

Does a solar panel installation immediately eliminate the need for conventional energy sources like electricity and gas? Unfortunately, not right now, but fortunately, clean energy companies like Sungate Energy Solutions are taking great strides towards creating totally fossil-fuel-free communities. Nonetheless, you can easily reduce your conventional power consumption by up to 30 to 40% and even more. In many households, for instance, water heating is done through solar energy and they are even running multiple electrical appliances.

The initial cost may deter you, but think of the long-term saving, both in terms of money and reducing your carbon foot print. Once installed, solar panels go on producing energy without incurring you recurring cost. You’ll need to get them serviced once in a while but that doesn’t amount to much.

When you go for solar energy you also set a great example for your children and people you know. The energy of the sun is inexhaustible — we are never, ever going to run out of it. With encouraging response from you and other similar-minded people who worry about the future of the planet there will soon come a time when all our energy requirements will be fulfilled by cleaner energy sources like solar power. A great advantage of being in California is that you get abundant supply of the sun. Want to be a pioneer? Contact Sungate Energy Solutions today: your children will thank you for that.

from The White House: Next Steps on Comprehensive Energy Reform

Good afternoon,

Yesterday I returned from my fifth trip to the Gulf Coast region since the BP Deepwater Horizon oil rig burned into the sea and left the worst oil spill this country has ever seen in its wake. A team of Administration officials met with Governors, mayors, parish presidents and other local officials from four states and reiterated President Obama’s promise to the people of the Gulf Coast region: We will not be satisfied until the leak is stopped, the oil in the Gulf is cleaned up, and the livelihoods of the people in the Gulf Coast region have been fully restored.

There’s another important message for every American: The disaster in the Gulf is a wake-up call that we need a new strategy for a clean energy future, including passing comprehensive energy and climate legislation.

A lot of Americans are asking what this comprehensive energy reform will look like and whether we can really move towards a clean energy future. This afternoon at 4 p.m. EDT, Heather Zichal, Deputy Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change, will host a live chat on WhiteHouse.gov to talk about this issue:

Shifting to a clean energy economy won’t be easy. For decades, we have grappled with the issue of how to end our addiction to fossil fuels. And for decades, we have lacked the political will and courage to take this important step towards securing our environment, our economy and our security.

To anyone who thinks this can’t be done, take a look at President Obama’s track record of working with Congress to deliver the change that our country needs. Here are three examples:

The health care reforms of the Affordable Care Act bring the stability and security for American families that seven Presidents tried — and failed — to deliver;
The Recovery Act is widely regarded as a critical measure that prevented another depression and saved or created more than 2 million jobs;
Reform of student loans makes higher education more affordable, allowing students to get loans without relying on large banks as unnecessary middlemen.
Now is the time to work with the same determination on comprehensive energy reform. Just today, I joined the President at a meeting with Senators from both parties to discuss how to move forward.

We also want to hear from you, so be sure to join the live chat with Heather Zichal at 4 p.m. EDT today:

Sincerely,

Carol Browner

PG&E Smart Meter ‘Rebellion’ Growing

PG&E Smart Meter

Check out CBS Channel 5, San Francisco’s news report on “Smart Meters.”

El Diablo es aqui!

There is an interesting news report found at the link above which demonstrates the outrage by Northern Californians regarding PG&E’s attempt to dig deeper into their pockets and monitor the electricity they are using along with what they are using it for – all in an effort to CHARGE CUSTOMERS MORE MONEY!

Well… this is Sungate’s take on the matter. You’re likely not going to beat the utility companies at their game in terms of the regulations they will be able to manipulate the government in to allowing. So, your best investment and protection is to solarize your home with photovoltaic panels and simply produce your own electricity.

Makes lots of sense and the money you are going to save is no laughing matter… although, you will get a chuckle when you receive your “low” electric bill each month once you’ve installed solar.

Elvis Presley Had the Sun’s Energy

Sun Studios, Memphis Tennessee

When Elvis Presley walked into Sun Studios in 1954 he plugged into the Sun’s energy. Okay, perhaps that’s a bit of a lame metaphor to promote solar panels… but it’s a fun way to get your attention.

On a recent business trip to Memphis for a different client, Sungate’s web developer and professional photographer Marc Blake paid a visit to Tennessee’s historic landmark, “Sun Studios.” The first photo he took was of the electric meter on the back of the studio (pictured below).
Sun Studios, Memphis Tennessee

While numerous tourists stood in front of the famous building to get their snapshots in, Blake was thinking about the energy it took to power Sun Studios. Everyone requires electricity and when you think about it, without that power how much different history would be.

Marc Blake commented, “How cool would it be to see their meter spinning backwards?” and went on to say, “I should send a suggestion, a proposal if you will, to Brad Smith, CEO of Sungate Energy Solutions suggesting the company inquire about doing a publicity promotion to arrange for Sun Studios to get its power from the SUN with Sungate solar photovoltaic panels.”

Okay, I just can’t help it… but, “Thank ya, thank ya very much!”
